While lots of people have used a 35mm socket, I believe the nut is actually 1-3/8" but has the rounded corners. A 6-point 1-3/8" socket seemse to work. 35mm is 1.378" and a 1-3/8" socket is 1.375", so the difference is small. That difference does accommodate tape to preserve the finish.
Well bugger - that looks just like the one I got from Jims at better than 3 times the cost. That said - it works quite well, reinstalling the cap was a piece of cake. I used a 3 inch extension on the ratchet (with the fork clamped in the lower tree) and used my right hand to put pressure on it whole turning the socket with my left hand to start the threads........went right on. I covered the cap with a blue shop towel.
