Not sure what set of cams I want to go with yet for my SE Fat bob and I would like to up the compression a little also.
I am open for suggestions from you guys.
What should I expect to pay for a cam change?
I am most likely going to have a local shop (not a dealer) install them and give it a tune right away. I have a TTs mastertune installed, they tuned it last year for me and it worked out great but I want a little more.
Not alot of answers so far; I have the same bike, but different color. I think our bikes came stock with 255s? Can't swear to it. I swapped to V&H 2n2 1 Big Radius and had an Self-Learning-Module (SLM) installed. My bike breathes way better. If you change the cams won't you also have to put in an SLM? The SLM adjusts for cams, intake and exhausts changes. I'm pretty sure that's how it works. You think when you buy a CVO Screaming Eagle you are getting the biggest badest cams they have, but maybe not so. Maybe the 255s are an all purpose cams? I want some that will yank my arms out of socket from the get-go, not so interested in top end, but bottom end. I don't know enough about the subject.

Cams are always a good idea, I've changed cams 3 times in about 8000 miles! I went from the 255s, 260s & now Tman 625s. It all depends on where you want the power to come on, and that will narrow your choices down. You can always get some head work to go along with the new cams. To give you a idea of whats possible with some head work, I was putting out 93hp with the 255s and 110"+ heads, I then switched to the 260s and ported my heads and it climbed to 112hp. That was 19hp increase. Now I'm going with the 625s and was told to expect it to climb in the 120+ range. The stock se 110" leaves a lot to be desired, not that it can't become something awesome, it's just gonna take some work. Plan on 4-6hrs of labor. Oh yeah, I have a se 103" build.

Hi-jack alert......chad, I just ordered Tman 590s, how do you like them?
what were you running before?
I love these cams...actually I really like the majority of the 590 cams out there cause they're not just a torque cam & they're not just a high rpm hp cam! For me I like some torque which these are pretty good at with the fairly early intake closing, but they also pull good through the band & don't drop off like the smaller torque cams, they're fu**in great dude! My 1st choice were the Mackie 590's but when I put this build together he didn't have em for the 06's yet (now he does), they were my first choice cause I ran em in a earlier dyna before, but I'm glad I tried the T-man 590's cause they're soo close to eachother there's not much difference! T-man has some killer grinds & they work for sure! I've tried alot of different sets of cams on this build just to see the differences & I get bored easy, lol! I'd say my favorites on this build are obviously these T-man 590's cause they're still in there, but also the woods tw400 cams are a really good set (very agressive), close to the same characteristics of these but more lift. IMO any cams for the dynas with duration in the 240's & about .600 lift is gonna make a killer build depending on headwork ofcoarse...I just don't see going any smaller cause they're dynas & they're light weight & going smaller will fall off earlier! Not everyone rides the same though, ya know!

375 is reasonable & prolly get a better job and service from a guy in the garage cause he likes to do & its not a job for him. We all know how work can sometimes effect your perfomance (moral & whatnot)...plus it's a dealer man, I will never trust one & don't know how many people would, lol! I haven't done much sidework with bikes the last year but cuase I got my own project (64 chevelle) & my 2 1/2 year old which is project alone, lol...but I use to do cam swaps for 150 & they bring beer, lol! Or if it was for a friend of a friend who I've never met, 250 & leave the bike.
