I tour alot on my FXDC, have a tall sissy bar that I strap my tent and sleeping bag to.
This makes a great back rest, fitted Highway pegs so I can stretch out if needed and throw over bags.
Very comfy, like rideing an arm chair...then get home and you still have the best handeling Harley on the road.
The Dyna is a good all rounder..no problem touring..Went from Sweden all round Germany last year..intend on doing the same this year..and with passenger.
+1 on the most rounded bike ever. Lighter, easier to handle and it can be dressed up or stripped down however you like. With a bagger, (yes I had one [DONT TELL ANYONE]) , I had a heavy bike everywhere I went. When I stripped it down a little, I looked like a bagger with no bags or windshield. Dyna's forever!
No problem touring on a Dyna ! I have a 2008 that i ride from Florida to New Jersey with no problems. It literally takes me less than 10 minutes to go from my stock Superglide FXD configuration to touring mode FXD Superglide. Quick attach windshield, quick attach hard saddlebags, Quick attach sissybar and luggage rack, Mustang seat with back rest and a T-bag on the sissy bar then ready to roll ! Takes less than 5 minutes to make it completely stock when i get to my destination. The Dyna frame handles the highway at 75+ mph just fine and the 6speed is great on the super slab as well.
As long as you have something for backsupport and a windshield , every Harley is a tourer!!
I have a passenger's sissybar and between that and me i fasten my bag... Works great!!
I've only been on a 8 hour trip, from Chicago to Memphis and back, with a saddleman seat and it was definitely a comfortable ride. Of course you also want a windshield too.

Or in my case (I don't use backrest or a windshield) all you need is good bags and/or a luggage rack, and you can tour on almost any bike you can spend a few hours on! The seat is the big deal-breaker with me, I can either tour on a seat or not.
