So NC has changed policy on Tag Renewals. They will not accept payment on tags until inspection is completed which requires baffles!! I dont know how many times a car was squeezing me off the road and a twist of the throttle scared them back into their own lane!! I guess I need to buy baffles for inspection, and waste time installing them only to come home and remove them immediately. This state is beautiful, but the BS that you have to go thru to keep legit is rediculous. Does anyone have any baffles for some V&H short shots?? I need a set evidently.
I am looking for some info on quiet baffles and standard baffles. I have never heard either set of baffles on these pipes. Which baffles sound nice and deep?? I have heard some guys say the standard baffles in these pipes have a raspy crappy sound. Should I go with Big City Thunder monster baffles?? Any feedback on other brand baffles appreciated as well. What is the required baffle size for these pipes? I have found a boatload of generic type baffles on ebay that look like they will not kill the sound.

Can't you go to an indy shop and just get it inspected that way?
Personally, inspection of any kind is just total bs especially on a bike because if you have half a brain you're inspecting your bike before every ride. Apparently the powers that be in NC don't grasp that concept.
No, Baffles and mirror are required. It is this year they have started the NC Money Racket. I have sold all additional vehicles to avoid paying BS fees and taxes.
I am now looking for recomendations on good sounding non raspy baffles for my Vance and Hines short shots staggered. I would rather just install a set that sound good and I can leave them in so no hassles from the man. What size baffles are needed for these pipes? I want my bike to be legit so I can ride without hassles.
Just had my bike inspected last month, they didn't even look at it or start it. Took the registration, logged it in the computer, and then took my money. All about the money.

Unfortunatly the powers that be are not concerned about drivers/ riders intelligence. Its all about getting enough money to fund a grossly unbalanced budget. A great example: I wrecked my bike and cause no damage to anything or anyone other than my own person and bike. I still got slapped with a $170 fine for failing to maintain a properly marked lane.
I guess thats the price we pay to live in this fine state.

Maybe it's the price you pay for having Bev Perdue (D-ouche) as governor.
We got rid of our inspections years ago. What a complete and total waste of time and money. Waiting in line for hours, having lame-brained inspectors looking for any reason to fail you, then having them slap the sticker on wherever they felt like it, usually on the front left fork with a big, ugly, green, yellow or whatever color sticking out like a sore thumb, and taking clear coat with it when it came off.
Besides, inspections anymore are really kinda stupid. With all the electronics on the cars tday, they just simply won't run if they're polluting Gaia's precious air. Which was the primary excuse in the first place. What is it now? Safety? Must protect the chilluns? Whatever. Politicans of a certain orientation just can't stand the fact that somewhere, somebody might be enjoying him/herself without paying the State first.
