Default Just got dyno tuned

Up upgraded to a Wood TW-6G cam 2 weeks ago. Went to the dyno the first time and had a rear injector quit and one of my pushrods backed off. Luckily I trailered it to the dyno. Got that all fixed and drove the bike an hour back to the dyno today. Keeping in mind that I am at 7000ft elevation, the bike made 80hp/80tq. It has V&H Pythons duals and K&N filter. Worlds of difference on the poser and performance. I know my gas mileage will suffer cause it's much more fun to drive now
Next summer I do the top end to finish the 98" conversion. I could only afford the cams for now. Glad I didn't wait until I could afford it all

I got the kit from Scott at Hillside. I got the gear driven cams, cam gears, new inner bearings, bearings for the cam plate, outer timing gears plus a 4* advance key, S&S adjustable pushrod kit and gaskets. I think it was around $1100 with tax and shipping. I went with the adjustable one because I did not want to tear the whole top end apart just yet.
I bought the bearing puller and installer from Georges garage just because I wanted to be able to do it all myself and not take it to the dealer. Those were about $160.
The only thing I had to farm out was getting the cam bearings and cams pressed into the plate with the gears lined up. One of the service techs from local HD shop charged me $20 to do it..took maybe 10 minutes.

Having NEVER been inside a twin cam motor, if I were to do it again and had everything here, 3-4 hours. Take your time, get a service manual if you don't have one.

I called and talked to Vic (Sc-longhair) several times just for reassurance since he had done this not long ago

I know. Hillsides 98" claims 110hp/110tq. I have to wait for next fall for that though

It's a little more involved for pre-06 bikes since you guys have bearings in the camplate.

I did cams on my '07 and all in all I had about $500-600 invested including cams and dyno tune. I reused stock pushrods. Going to gear drive does increase cost as well but some say with gear drive you don't lose power but gain a little extra because of the positive interaction of the gears that have zero play vs chain that can stretch and cause slight power loss.

Congrats, Bryan.
