Thanks...and sounds about right. I found some on eBay...the lockable ones in the mid 30 dollar range.
Trust me, I didn't go into this, or any of the other work with the idea that it would be "plug and play"....custom stuff comes close, but fab work is just part of the deal.
If it was EASY...hell....everybody would do it! You have to enjoy the challenge, at least to a point, and have a vision. The rewards come when YOU are happy, and somebody...somehwere ntoices it, points it out and has kind words.
For many, it is just easier to buy a new bagger. Nothing wrong with that. I just wanted to be a "cheap skate" and "fix" my bike to get there!
I hope it I get close. I really love this bike, guys. I hope you guys don't think I screwed it up.

Unless its fresh off the showroom, or new otherwise, you bike is your expression. Personally I think it looks great. You got me thinkin hard bags now....lol
I just ordered the Memphis Shades Batwing, going to try the Memphis mounts for the Fats/Slim windshield for the dyna. They use the Fats/Slim mount on the Softail and Road King to mount the Batwing. Didn't order a windshield, will order one if I get the fairing to work and can measure for height. Also looking at Clearview and Klock Werks Windshields.
i started emailing questions to 2orange from the ebay auction. he said that if you bought the memphis shades fairing and then bought the mounting kit part number 2320-0031 which is for a fat/slim windshield and mount that to the faring. Since that part number will work on the 49mm forks. He said with this kit the fairing will pull off like a windshield as a quick release. The only thing different is the there will be the 4 clamps on your forks that will be left behind when you pull the fairing. The good thing he said is then if you also have a windshield, that the windshield will also mount directly to that same hardware.
I have this mounting kit, that is why I am going to try this setup. I usually run a windshield anyway so hopefully I can use the same mounts in the summer. If it doesn't work I'll try a different setup.
