That's looking great. I love the side profile. I think the bars look good, but agree about the mount. What about cutting the top section of the mount off and having the idiot lights through that angle just to make it all smaller.
I bike is really starting to come together and looks good so far. Are you still considering bending the bars down a little?
The speedo bracket looks good, but it doesn't seem to have any kind of support. It looks like the weight of the speedo hanging out there will cause the bracket to vibrate like hell. Over time this vibrating could fatigue the alum and maybe cause it to snap cause alum doesn't like to bend very much.
You could mod the brace on the bars to receive the idiot lights and mount the speedo in a dash panel.

I thought about that after I mounted it all up. I would have to weld the plate on the bars and grind the nuts off the bottom, then drill out all the holes for the lights...Its doable, but would be a PITA.
@blueangel73: The mount is actually 10ga steel.
Yep, gonna bend the bars down slightly. Also going to bend the ends forward slightly. They **** my wrists slightly and I think it would be unfortable over time.

I think its looking great - with the planned bar bends, very nice. You have an interesting dilemma with that speedo mount and you may have to look at it for awhile before the answer comes to you - that's the way my brain works, anyway. You're making great progress and the lines look great!
Got the heads back from the porter. Once again, I am very happy with the quality work done by Larry. He milled them down .050, ported them and threw in new seals. Should run pretty good with the Andrews EV51 cam I found in the bike.
After talking to Larry for a while. I am going to pull the jugs and have him turn down the bottom of the jugs to make sure they are flat/true so I dont have to worry about a base gasket leak (Evo's tend to leak)
Well, it looks like its been just over 1 month since I purchased the bike.
The frame is currently getting powder coated, along with the swing arm, and parts of the wheels. Not going to announce the color just yet
Yesterday I had a friend of mine come over and helped me paint the engine. I could have done it, but he is a total perfectionist and wanted some time out of the house so what better way to kill some time than painting an engine??
Here are some pics of the progress yesterday.
My phone died at 2am so I didnt get any more pics. I'll try and snap some today.
