you hvae to pull the dust boots, inside there is a retaining clip, remove that, then (this is after you have drained your fluid) then break that allen loose, once that is out, just pull them apart

Might be a dumb question, but how do you drain the fluid?

I break the top cap loose while they are still in the trees... once it is loose, then put a rag over the cap and un screw... remember it is pre loaded so it will want to FLY out, (alwasy cover your tank. after you have the cap off, slide out the fork leg, and dump it out, inside a spring, spacer, and washer will be in there, just look at the order it comes out and take note of the coils on the spring cause they hve to go back in that order and direction... when you dump it out pump the leg a few times to get it all out... done... thereis also a drain on the lower leg but it takes FOREVER

Nope it's not dumb. There is no drain on the 49mm forks and the large lower bolt is considered the drain. I just disassembled mine over a 5 gallon bucket and let the stuff run out into it.
