Here is the cylinder and heads what do you guys think leave em this color with my bike or powder coat them black????
This is the cylinders and heads on my buddies street glide so this is not my motor....
I order chrome rocker boxes upper and lowers and also cam cover and tranny cover to add some more chrome to my bike to see if that will help do you guys think with the added chrome it will look better??
MAN! Those will look nice against the black cases/trans......and, if it was me...black exhaust, black rocker covers would contrast well and make those cylinders/heads POP!!!!! I think chrome might just be too much on the top, but again...IMHO.
Here is pics of the good CHIT........ The work Hillside does is out of this wrold the jugs felt like butter inside and the flow of these stg 4 heads are the beast I have seen Scott is legit....
Many dealers are allowing people to order with the discount...$4800 out the door, but Los11 is right, you still need parts to make it whole. But, you have an entire running 103 with cams to sell that is making 90 horses...easily to get 2k or so out of that, put the money towards the 120R and be into the whole thing in the 5k range if you sell off your old parts. The cam is a simple change if you don't want the peakiness of the powerband, but in a light dyna with a single rider and aggressive riding style, you might like it.
If I could do Los11's build for 2k in parts (STEAL) I'd do that in a heartbeat. But, many who are faced with the 5k price tag on a build...should at least run the numbers. On the other forum, there are guys putting out some impressive numbers with stock and modded 120R's........it is the option I would be looking hard at.
Didnt know he had the 103 to sell, yeah he will def make some money on that to offset the price of few extras...lol The other build we are doing is gonna be the 120R with SOME WORK..lol so lets see what she comes out to be my buddy wants to def get the heads worked a little bit and a chit load of other parts.. but also we are doing the labor so we are saving there you know..

Well I was thinking of doing the lower rocker boxes chrome and the uppers i have in wrinkle black. I was thinking of doing the cam cover chrome and trans cover??? What do you think??
Also I am gonna do chrome exhaust but with black heat sheilds that basically cover the whole pipe except maybe 8 inches of the can exposed in chrome thats if I go with the RB racing.. If not I was thinking of doing a chrome exhuast wrapped in black heat wrap or do you think I should just do a straight up black exhaust ?? Like a blacked out rinehart 2-1 pipe....

The rockers might look like that, contrast and not be completely chrome/black is a good balance. I think your on the right track with the chrome covers here and there, just enough to not be another black bike or chrome *****....
I like your idea with the RB racing chrome pipe with black shields! Again, contrast and that pipe is pretty awesome, not many have them so you would be a little more unique compared to say a standard Rinehart 2-1....I had one and I don't think it would be better than the RB racing....in both looks and performance. I'd skip the wrap on your bike, and where your going with it. It would throw things off compared to the chrome and such.
Those cylinders and heads look awesome. If you want some contrast I'd keep the cylinders and heads the way they are. Chrome lower rocker boxes like you mentioned but instead of wrinkle for the uppers, I'd do gloss black. I'd also do a gloss black cam cover with a chrome timer cover. Gloss black trans covers and outer primary with a chrome derby cover. Then finish it off with polished stainless hardware for the entire engine and maybe a chrome air cleaner cover. And do the exhaust how you described.

Thnx brotha.. Yeah Hillside does amazing work Scott is the man over there.. I cant wait to get everything together and see what this motor will put out.. I dont know about the gloss black cause everyhting I had powder coated was flat black. I think once I have them on the bike I will be able to see what covers to use...
I would just powder coat them black but I dont want to trash all the work he did on them just the diamond show cut from diamond headz was about $600 so I want to take advantage of them u know..
Todd, LOS11 thanks for the input... Since I would probably keep the 103 it seems like it would make more sense to have my current engined built out, by those guys.
LOS11, I think the fins would look good powdered, but with the edges still silver, especially with that cut you have on them, it would really make it stand out better... IMO

Well if I have them powdered I will lose on the diamond cut so those edges wont be there. I can try to spray them with Harley Black High Temp Engine paint but its gonna be a PITA to mask out the edge's.
Its either I leave them the way they are with the Alien Silver Powder Coat with Diamond Show Cut and run Black Uppers with Chrome Lowers and see how that works.. Or I will have them Powdered Black ....
Update... I just recieved the HPI 55mm High Flow Throttle Body man this thing was well worth the money they do some job... I will post pics as soon as my camera starts working again....
Also adding some parts to my build, I am gonna do a Fueling Oil Pump I think it will be a good addition more flow is always good, also a oil cooler not sure which one yet also thinking about some Woods Lifters and possibly some Roller rockers I know i dont need the rocker and lifters for my cam but if i change up to lets say a woods 9F cam or any high lift cam then i will be good there and i know i will want to go bigger in the future....
