Default jet help

Was wondering if anyone could give some advice. I have a 00 FXDX and running v&h short shots with no baffels and a arlen ness big sucker intake. Bike runs fine but has a small cough every now and then. Did not change any jets but I know that they need to be. Anyone running close to the same that can advise on what size jets would be best?

46 slow,185 or 190 main .don't forget to adjust the mixture screw. If you wnt to run better under 3500rpm,get a pair of Khromewerks drag pipe baffles.will still be loud, but will run much better.

Put two #4 washers under the needle and it should take care of the little cough that is caused by a real lean spot in the needle. moving the needle up lets a bit more fuel in when at light throttle conditions which is where the coughing was happening in my experience with an 02. Worked good for me.

+1 on the article in the American Iron Magazine. IMHO Joe Minton has his all in one sock, good info from him, I trust him. That's the May issue.
