If you can find 2-1/2" Grade 8's at your local hardware store it will be fine. I would not use chromed bolts.

I just recieved some pulley bolts that I ordered for my 06 FXDBi and this is what they send me ! ... really ? looks like I be going to the local Fastenal store to get some factory Grade 8 bolts ... rather have strong bolts that will last over they cheep pretty ones that are clearly to short !

Those short ones that came with a pulley I bought are what caused my problem, I'll never go shorter than 2-1/2 again

I actually have a spare set of pulley bolts that I bought when I had to do my wheel bearings cause I wasn't sure if I'd need to take the rotor off or not. I never had to remove the rotor so they are still in my tool box, hope I never have to need them...

ARP = automotive racing products. they specialize in racing fasteners. regular bolts are all chromoly steel with an average of at least 170,000psi fastening strength. even their stainless bolts are in that range. if i ever had to replace vital hardware on my bike, i would buy ARP. cost about the same as what harley would charge but WAY better quality. you can buy them for a good price at summitracing.com thats where i buy them from.
