Check Engine light on and Speedo backlight out intermittently
I have a 2008 Dyna Super Glide. On Saturday, I noticed the Check Engine light was coming on intermittently and my sixth gear light wasn't coming on at all. Got to my destination and parked it until Monday. On Monday night going home, my speedometer backlight went out by the time I got into sixth gear. When I shifted down, it came back on. This didn't help me on the freeway. My DTC codes are p0563, b0563, b1006, b1007. I cleared them and sandpapered my battery connections. Just did a quick test drive down the freeway and haven't noticed any problems. No new DTC codes either. Hopefully, its fixed!
Well, driving to work this morning, I got the same symptoms. From what I've been reading on here, I should check the battery voltage while its running, correct? Whats a good voltage range I should be looking for? Is there anything else I need to check? I guess the voltage regulator is suspect if I don't have a good volt reading, correct? Thanks for the help in advance.
I have a 2011 Deluxe, intermittent problem. Headlight brightens, then speedo speedo backlight goes out (if in 6,6 light goes out) dash indicator lights go out. Started doing it for just seconds but then staying out longer. Sometimes when these lights come back on the security light will light. Long story. I swapped voltage regulators with my 2013 Heritage. Now the Heritage is having all the same problems. So for me it is Voltage Regulator !!
