CRIME SCENE CHOPPERS HEADLIGHT
ok so i recentally got my bike back and i had the CSC Rapide headlight amoung other things put on my bike. i also got the the bulb light for it from CSC called the laser light. any way the light contains 3 12v 55w 1.5inch lights.
heres the thing i rode home and the light got so hot it melted the wires inside of the light. so i rewired it thinging it was the solder that had broke on me and no same thing it still got so hot it melted the wires.
heres my question..
there is a high beam power and a low beam power. so when the high beam is turned on the low beam turns off correct? ive contected CSC and they told me that they had never herd of the problem which made me think that somehow i had wired this light incorrectaly. there is a power and a ground wire from each bulb and i put all three powers and all three ground together and wired it to the high beam set up... so did i do anything wrong,
im starting to get really pissed off at this light i paid alot of money for it and ive just recentally retrofitted a H I D into the houseing but its still not as bright as the 3 bulb combination.
Sounds more like overloading than a heat problem. The wire gauge is too small and I do not mean just the ground wire increasing it alone will not solve anything. With 3 55w lamps I would have at least 14 awg wire since they run constantly. Are all 3 lights suppose to work together?
The way you describe wiring all together to the high beam does not sound right.
well to be honest with you it really doesnt say anythng about how to wire or what to use to wire it. the description of the light says that you can run 2 lights for your low beam and 3 for hi.. and even with only two lights its still crazy hot inside there, i know someone on here has to have this light. i went as far as to get some of those spark plug wire covers that protect against heat but they really didnt anything either
