look at the pictures, they should answer your questions.

Yea, I can see they're CLEARLY MOUNTED on a bike with MID CONTROLS.....which, btw was the basis of this entire discussions. I disagreed that the Switchback could be attached to Dyna's with Mid controls without modifications.

Oops! F*ck'd up the part number. Should be 27-0920 for the Wyatt floorboards. 49218-01 is the part number for the chrome engine guard that fits with the floorboards.

You are correct, that is what I meant to say. It's been a long day.

I only posted this Fact twice. If that is "On All of the Threads", you need to read more than two threads. And like I said in the other thread, when you call me a "Troll" for posting a Fact you didn't agree with, I didn't compare the fuel with other year or size bikes. You compared the 2012 with your 2007. The models I talked about are 2012 year and motor is a 103 on both. The Switchback has the same size with a smaller tank. Now, that is a fact.

I have seen Touring done on Buell Blast. Now that is a laugh.

Maybe you can't tour on anything other than a bike with a big tank and full fairing but a fair number of other motorcyclists can and do.

Smaller riders who want a touring bike but cant handle a RK or SG will love it.

I say thumbs up to HD for building it.
This is a true "glass is half full" comment...and he's right. Thing is, the reversed "glass is half empty" comment is right too. It just depends on you.

I think the Switchback is a great idea but they dropped the ball a bit during the execution. I see all the positives and understand how they price their stuff, but know we could all do this cheaper on our own (and it would look better).

Delete the chrome (expensive) on the motor, add the bags and windshield, oh yea, and the running boards... swap one FL front end for a Dyna front end (at the factory) and charge an extra 3 thou. Good idea!
That's exactly what I was thinking. The bigger jugs and pistons, different cam (maybe), etc. cost the company no more than the 96". However, it's well known that people will pay more for a bigger engine with more torque. You set your price to what the market will buy. Bigger profits are always a good thing. If the people aren't buying it, then the price will come down and/or the model will be discontinued.

Somehow, I think this one will sell quite well. When I was at the dealer on Thursday, customers were talking about the new Switchback. There's definitely a market for it.

It's not for me, but I've already bought my new Harley.

However, as you pointed out:

Superglide $12,999.00
Good Bags $600.00
Good Shield $300.00
Tour Seat $350.00
Total $14,249.00

Add in a 103 kit and labor you might come in $1k less than the Switchback. So really, for $1k you are getting the whole design and color matched bags in a nice package and all removable.
I agree w all except, "good bags 600.00". Painted detachable hard bags are waaay more than 600. then add detach hardware...
just sayin....
