I have a 2014 street bob with mids and I am looking to get forward controls put on. I am trying to do this without having to pay an arm and a leg for the kit but am finding it hard. I would like to use my current pegs for the kit. Any ideas?
I am (since shrinking!), not even 5'-4". Despite that, I have preferred forward controls on all my bikes. I had an '08 Street Bob, and changed it over to forwards, AND with highway pegs. MY problem is that for some reason with mid-controls, I was often getting cramped up in the thighs. ??? I have a Switchback now and therefore have floorboards, and love them as I can move my legs forward or back. Thinking of getting an engine guard, and putting footpegs on that. I like having options of where to put my feet on long trips.
I know the factory relocation kit reuses your existing pegs but it is pricey at$370. It does allow you to eliminate the mid shift lever going through your primary though. Most aftermarket kits come with pegs and such and the prices vary. Another option is to keep an eye out for a used set. Alot of people switch foot control location so a set should come up eventually

I put on a set of DK Customs highway pegs and kept my mids. I had forwards my previous bike but didn't want to spend the big $$$ on a forward kit. For $120 it was the perfect solution and, the added plus, is that I have 2 foot placement options instead of just one. http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/Stea...DK-SHP-BLK.htm

The Stealth Adjustable Highway Peg Mounting Kit allows for an extra set of pegs to be used as highway pegs. Made of American cold rolled steel and the arms are adjustable with a 4" range, forward or rearward.
There are optional 1/2" & 1" spacers available that will push the highway peg mount out further from the frame giving better clearance around "fat" air cleaners and the arms have a durable Black Powder Coat Finish to match the frame of your ride and they fit both the Sportster and the Dyna!
