How durable is this plasti dip? I dont think i would want to use it on my bike unless i knew it was super durable! I wouldnt want to keep painting something over and over again every other year!
My Bike sits under a cover, do you think the constant flapping in the wind will wear it off? I was thinking about doing my bars or lowers.
I dont know much about this stuff! But i will tell you a constant flaping in the wind will rub even the best paint off with time! Went on vacation one year and tarped the stuff in the back of my pick up truck and the tarp was flapping in the wind well by the time i got home the frigging paint was all messed up where the tarp was rapping off it!
it is durable but something rubbing on it with force or constantly can tear through it (boot, tarp, etc). Your forks and other non commonly touched parts are fine to do with plasti dip. I just did my mirrors tonight. If a stone hits hard enough to damage the coating then I will simply respray them and 15 minutes later they are good to go. The Plasti Dip on my forks is solid and it looks great. I am very happy with it.
An advantage of plastidip is that it won't chip if hit by a stone.......it's soft enough to flex and not chip, I've got 20 k miles on the front spoiler of my Dodge Magnum (3 inches off the road) Done in Plastidip..........no chips
Sounds pretty good! Sounds like its a good product to use for blacking out parts! Wonder how it would work on my primary cover? I was going to buy the wrinkle black cover from Harley @ $250 bucks but maybe it might be better just to paint the stock one! How would it hold up on a Primary cover? Im pretty picky with stuff and i wouldnt want it to look like crap after awhile!
I dont believe it will work on your primary. Because of heat. It may get soft or peel off but i dont know. If you are picky then i wouldnt do it. The other reason i dont like doing that is if your shoe bumps it or rubs it while riding it will peel off over time. This is good for those things you wont touch and mess with.
