yes but nothing crazy just a good cleaning and scuff for chrome and follow the directions on spray pattern. for best results it requires baking.

I decided to start/practice with my horn cover first and see how it went, thinking that it would be the easist to start with. was quick and easy to do. did light coats, allowed to dry 15 to 20 minutes in between coats... let it dry 2 days before installing. question is its still tacky, does it ever completly dry to the point of not being tacky? seams like it would attract dust, etc if it stays like this. does clear coating help with this?

Its a rubber surface so when you say it will be tacky that may be what your feeling. Its not going to be smoth and dry like paint. You say clear coating. If you thinking spray paint clear over it i dont think it will work. I think the plasti dip, being its a rubbery surface will only crack the clear coat. But plasti dip does sell glossifier's. The glossifier's are the same material as the plasti dip.

Has anyone ever dipped their wheels? Just wondering if this stuff would hold up during a tire change or if I should hold off till the end of season after I replace my front tire.

I have mine down in Plasti-Dip. Look at my 18" rear posts. I got more photos I have to post tonight, I keep forgetting to do it.
