Plasti Dip has worked great for me too on non moving/wearing parts.
I tried the "pledge" idea to clean and it looks good, like moisturized vinyl.

Plasti-dipped my heat shields 2 days ago. Figured I would throw it up here. So far it hasn't melted....fingers crossed.....may end up taking all mine off as I think chrome is where its at for me. Will say the plasti-dip has held up really nice. Will leave it on the heat shields as an experiment for everyone else.
Here is the list of things I used this stuff on:
Fork lowers, triple trees, handlebars, crash bar, heavy breather, dash, headlight trim, horn cover and all the windshield hardware including the detachable clamps. Had the battery cover completely done but the seat rubbed the top and it started to peel so only a portion of the band is done in it.
This stuff is great. After reading through all the threads about it, I thought that I would give it a try. Nice thing about it is, if I messed up I could just peel it off. I plasti-dipped my lowers, triple trees, horn cover, front hub, highway pegs, and clutch and brake levers. Its held up so far on the levers. About 500 miles or so of riding.
Glossifier isn't the same thing, it's an "enhancer" that helps make regular plasti-dipped stuff glossier. I have some and I've used it, and it helps but won't turn black denim into Vivid Black.
I'm not surprised they have Clear plasti-dip though; remember this stuff has other uses than changing the color of car and motorcycle parts.
