I think I'm going to take the box off. The wheels are going to be a surprise for all. Just broke my Rx sunglasses this morning which is going to be a pricey affair but should not cut into bike mods hopefully. Damnit. I just got them back with new lenses last weekend. Oh well, gotta vent.

I want to se what these gold valves look like in person. I am thinking they will be in tomorrow as they were coming from Nevada, but they might make it here today. I'll get some pics up once they arrive.

Them Gold Valves are in. I scanned the instructions and it is a good thing my tech can do this for me as I am lost with these. Here are a few pics. Waiting on lowers still. My rep from the coater is bringing the sample color by later.



I guess I'll watch the dvd that came with them so I can understand better.

Wow, thats detail....You dont mention spring rate, ride height, fluid wt, fluid height, etc.....

You could have just said "it rides firmer"

Lou (Mr. Moto) is not the most technical when it comes to his bike. He had a local shop do all the work for him as well. Not everyone obsesses on this stuff like we do.

I am just having such a hard time finding even a base line for reference on this front end. I know what spring rate I am gonna go with but still have no clue on fluid wt or height so far. A solid ,planted front end is crucial on all my bikes.

The powder coater (Andrews) finally brought the sample by for the lower legs and the pulley yesterday for my approval so it should be in soon depending on wehre it is coming from. It looks great and matches the paint on the biker very nicely. Hopefully I get everything back next week and get this thing back together.

More to come on the forks and all that stuff but I went with the recommendations on Ra e Tech;s site for the fork springs at 190 lbs which is kinda close to my weight at this point although it was over when I bought them. I think I am going to use some SE heavy fork oil and will let my tech de ide the amount to use and will let you guys know how much it is.

I am sure with the addition of the heavier springs and the gold valves with heavy oil the front end will be much better although I am still going to have to get a fork brace as well. I am thinking the superbrace but who knows.

I am also going to get new clutch plates and spring since I lost the spring I had at hom e(d'oh!) along with the metal plates that go between the clutch plates so that the clutch slipping will be a thing of the past.

John Conely is most likely going to help me with this oil leak as he knows exactly what causes it and has everything necessary to fix it and can weld it without pulling the case. He is one cool dude. Too bad I already did my 95" with heads as if I did not I would avhe had him do it as he has everything to bore cylinders, rework heads, etc etc at his shop. The guy is a genius with building motors. Really. He can do the lefty Timken conversion as well but since my bike is a 2002 it does not need it.

I wish I had met him sooner. LOL. Anyway I have been informed by my job that the bag comparison is not going to happen as I was spending far too much time on it as opposed to selling wheels so that is what it is. I really miss riding the Dyna and actually had to pilot a car today as it was raining at my pad. Nice and dry at work though. Go figure. I gave up riding in the rain long ago as I used to work as a motorcycle messenger and ride in rain all day for man years. Hats off to all you tough guys who still ride in the rain.

Like I said yesterday my wheels are being made and I am thing a few weeks or so for them. All I can say is I am going 21x2.15 on the front and 18 on the rear. Unfortunately I will be giving up 10mm of width which is .37"and that is the only bad part ab out the wheels. I do not want to get a new fender and paint it in order to run a wider 3', 3.25" or 3.5" wheel with a 120 tire. We'll see how the 90/21 compares to the 100 I have now. I will also be forced to get Metzelers as the Commander II's are not available in the sizes I need. Metzelers are great but I don't think that they will last as long.

As far as my box is concerned I avhe decided to run without it now and am not sure if I am going to get it painted of just sell it. The bike looks so much better without it on the bike but I love the ability to carry to go food containers and such in it. Hmmmm...Decisions decisions.

I'd say ditch the box. That bike is a wolf in sheep's clothing. The last thing you want to do is ride around town with grandma's hat on.
