I saw a big buzzard once on the side of the road that was "thinking".
I slowed down thinking and preparing for the worse.
Very little to no traffic.
The 18 wheeler behind me did not want to slow down so it passed me on the left.
Buzzard took two hops, took flight and smacked hard into front of 18 wheeler.

Revenge of the hunted...
Had a deer last Thanksgiving (hmmm) try to get his revenge for all the deer I have killed over the years, I still have some pains from him but I lived to ride another day.
Glad you made it through relatively unscathed.
