Some guys cutoff the struts, entirely, but that isn't something EZ to hide at resale. My argument is simply against modifying an essential and virtually irreplaceable original component, the frame, when there are many other avenues available (for routing wires).

note: You'll notice that the strut is reinforced to full thickness around every hole.
