You'll be missing $800 if you have them do it. It's not that hard - service manual, a weekend, some beer, and a buddy to help you out if needed.

i did mine last weekend. installed 10" road6 customs on my bob. Not that hard to do . Just get your self a service manual and you will be fine. Also the guys on the forum help out with any questions I had. Save your self the 800 for some new pipes if you don't already have them. Good luck.

Hey Marine, hope you didn't take my comments the wrong way, was just trying to add a little humor to the mix. Seriously, it's not a hard job to do, and I'm sure you have better things to do with your money than donate it to the HD Poor Mechanics' Fund.

Eight hours work seems a little steep. I talked to a dealer mechanic before I had mine done in the past, he said it would take three hours work (internal wiring, but about the same height so no brake or clutch line change). I asked what would happen if they run into problems on the way, he said that if he had promised max three hours then that's it.

If you have more dealers or indys in the ares, shop around! It should not take eight hours if you have the service manual and the right tools and a dealer should have just that!
