OK - Open to suggestions on placement. I did not have a lot of option, as I am running a 21 in front and my fender is in the highest position. The Brace was as low as possible, sitting on the fender. It looked to be clamping just below the line where the chrome rings meet the top of the fork lowers.
On my FXDC, there's a flat, non-tapered section on the top of the slider and that's where mine fits.
It's about a pinkie width above the fender.

BTW, the instructions make a big deal about having the bike upright when you fit the brace. It would be
very easy to get it slightly misaligned which could cause binding..
