Default Removing VHT from Fat Bob head pipe.

Purchased a pre-cat head pipe from Xantasm and it was previously painted with black VHT. My question is, what would be the best method for removing the VHT safely so I can get back to the original look of the head pipe? I have read about various strippers most notably Aromatic stripper. Any of these chemical strippers going to hurt the metal? Should I sand it off and polish it? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for all the help you guys have given me so far. Keep riding.

Trust me, you'd be better off starting from scratch with your head pipe..if you wanted this pipe you would have to strip it and completely redo it. New problem though....I removed my wide glide head pipe and noticed a big difference between it and the fat bob pipe. Notice the ends of the pipes where they fit to the cylinder..totally different shape. Is this just a matter of using a different shaped exhaust gasket? The Fatbob pipe is in the background and my wide glide pipe is in the foreground with the tapered end. Tell me I'm not f'd here. Thanks!

To append my previous post, I am not doubting the fat bob pipe will fit...I should have been more clear on that, I'm sure it will. My question is do I use the same tapered profile exhaust gasket (65324-83A) or a different shaped one?

I'd try just rubbing it down with fine wire wool. Its stainless so you don't need to worry about taking the surface off.

Thanks for the response guys...I think I'll try blasting it with the pressure washer and see if that get's it all. According to Nevil I can use the regular tapered exhaust gaskets even though the ends of the older pipe aren't tapered like my stock pipe. You guys are always a big help, thanks again!
