I have a 2012 SuperGlide Custom. Im looking to cam it. Im not sure if i want to go raditcal or aggressive or mild.
I am wondering which cam i should get for best all around results. I already have Vance & Hynes Big Raduis 2-1 pipes, Stage 1 air filter and a power commander with SE plugs and wires.
But the engine is still enternally stock.
i am extremely mechanicly inclined so i can do the work myself. Im just wondering what specail tools would make the process easier? and do i have to get the Power Commander reprogrammed at harley or can i do it with my laptop(i do have the software and connection cables)? or should i just go staight for the Dyno?
There's plenty of threads here on tools for the cam job, look up atrain's post here.
As for the cam choice I think the Andrews 48H is the best option for a stock 96". .settled on it for my bike and I love it. As for the tuning I'd probably go find a good tuner within driving distance and take it to them.
im getting fueling reaper 574s as soon as i get the cash. check them out after all the research ive done those are going to work best for me. they will also work when i go to a 107
I put in SE255 cams - Basic, easy install, and common programing. Works well, goes like hell, took a good part of a day to install. Would have taken less time, but needed those beer breaks!
Keep in mind; are you taking it on the track, are you street racing, are you just trying to race your buddies, are you trying to get off the line at a light quicker, are you just looking to have more power for your own fun?
The type of cams you pick are as personal as your reasons why you want to install them.
I used the SE255 cams to give my bike a little more power off the line and highway passing. I am not into racing or running it on a track. Gave 6th gear a reason for having it and have hit speeds over 200 kmph without hesitation. Happy with my choice, no regrets!
