DONT get a fatboy... from a former fatboy owner! great for cruising the boulevard, but not touring. That rear suspension is a wobbly POS, and being that its a heavy bike it should have dual front disc brakes. its single disc setup was decent solo riding and barhopping, but with two up riding and bags... its was downright scary.
I chose a 2012 Fat Bob to replace my FLSTF, and I have NO regrets doing so. Dyna Glide chassis, 103" Twin Cam, DUAL front disc brakes and a twin headlight etup. trust me brother, you will NEVER have a need for more front lighting after riding on a Fat Bob.
Fat Bob equals the best secret in the Harley lineup! Can do ANYTHING when equipped... bar hopper, long distance tourer with some bags, windshield or fairingm and air shocks, drag racer, canyon carver..... she does it all!
Between the 2 options you have given, it's a tough one. If you wanted to set up an FXDC to have the functionality of the Switchback, you would have about the same amount of money in either one. Personally, I like the Super Glide style better, but that's just me.
Last spring I could have bought any HD I wanted within reason, and rode pretty much every model HD makes at demo days the fall before. I knew I wanted a Dyna, but not sure which one, so it came down to preference of looks, comfort, and best bang for the $....I bought the FXDC in my sig pic...
