Nope. Rode 3900 miles on the street bob with kriega dry bags and rear fender rack. Great gas mileage. Handled fantastic from the mountains to the desert. Why would I want a road barge. Maybe if my baby rode with me but I ride solo so street bob perfect touring bike for me.

I traded my Road King for a Dyna Wide Glide because I wanted a lighter, faster and more nimble bike and also love the way the Wide Glide looks. I'm happy with the Dyna, but have already made additions to it that will make it better for long distance touring. I suppose my ideal situation is to have a Dyna and a Tourer. Maybe I should have bought a Switchback.
I bought a switchback, it's not a tourer if you are over 5'7" but it's fun to ride and I'm keeping it.

After trying for over a year to make it bigger (with some success...just yesterday extended my boards forward 3" with an ingenious mod from a fellow FLD owner) but I'm now saving for a used SG so I can have both. If I had to pick just one and since I don't tour much, I'd stay with the switchback.
If I toured more, definitely a dedicated tourer.
my $.02

On my bud's fld and you can see how just a 6' frame doesn't fit too good on one:

mine before board extensions, will post later with them;

My Xmas present to myself was a BMW Roadster. It's really nimble and smooth. Just working on the ergonomics - it's a tall bike for me (and I don't like being pushed toward the tank and leaning down on the handlebars). My to-do list is partially done: adjustable risers to bring the bars up/back a bit, lower front/rear shocks so that I'm not up on my toes so much, and next is to get the front seat reshaped/recovered to be flatter/lower in the back.

I've got a bobbed FXDF and love it. Can do 400-500 miles per day for multiple days in comfort. I want to ride a real bike ... give me 2 wheels and an engine and I am happy.

I give the guys I ride with a hard time about their "rolling Barcaloungers" with their fairings and windshields and lowers and heated seats and hard bags and trunk space. If I wanted an RV, I'd buy an RV.

Then, I went on a multi-day trip through the Blue Ridge mountains where it was cold in the morning and rained 1/2 the time. I was the only guy with "a real bike".

I got blasted with helmet lift on the highways, pelted with hard rain and big, fat WV mountain bugs, soaked with hour upon hour of rain, ate sand and grit thrown up from the wet pavement. I had to make sure my raincovers were on. Missed it once when we were away from the bikes; a shower came through and soaked my stuff while they all had waterproof tour packs. They cruised along the whole time, as happy as could be, warm and dry and listening to their stereos no matter what the weather was.

When the sun was out, I wouldn't trade my bike for all of the others combined. But, during the nasty weather and cold spells ... those Barcaloungers were looking pretty good to me.

Yeah, I'd like a Street Glide in my garage parked next to the Fat Bob.

Hahaha! I like living dangerous..bit like a gold fish swimming in a piranha tank posting jap bikes in a Harley forum..or is it lol I bet theres more than a few Harley owners that own a Jap for one reason or another.

It's a recent purchase I made, bought about four months ago to take me through winter and off road, was in good condition, low mileage and cheap(sort of) Serviced it,changed out some crap parts and it's fun off road. Hard to believe its from '94 As someone said, it wasn't imported into the US and quite sought after there(still).

Wouldn't give up my Bob for it though or buy a bagger as a replacement..the AT just fills a gap

I've ridden street glide and road glide as rentals and that only enforced in my mind the fact that I will never buy a touring bike. In general I just hated the feel of them both. The closest I would come is rounding up the FXRT or P fairing and bags for my FXR...now that I would be into.
