That's exactly why I can't understand it

I got two emails from two separate staff confirming single units for the price plus a transcript from a live chat. Got the better of me and I also rang. Each time told the same thing.

Here is part of my chat with out names of course.

07:02:56 AM] Hello,
I just made a purchase of RSD 49MM CHROME FORK PRELOAD ADJUSTER that you now have in stock. Are these sold in pairs or single units?
[07:03:19 AM] Xxx: One moment and I will check
[07:03:30 AM] Aussie: Thank you
[07:03:38 AM] Xxx: You're welcome.
[07:04:11 AM] Xxx These are sold each.
[07:04:28 AM] Aussie: As in only one (single) adjuster for $169.99
[07:04:52 AM] Xxx: Correct.

I still think they have made a mistake though.

RSD is smoking crack thinking people will pay $160 for one. Id rather spend $150 and get BOTH from Speed Merchant

+1! I understand sometimes that one product that is very crucial to a setup might be better going from one manufacturer than another... but not this.

For simplicity, say you have three inches of travel you'd want the laden height of the suspension to be 1" lower than the height at full extension. There are tons of articles online of how to measure sag.

The springs I'm running are about 3" shorter than the stock springs. Initially I added that difference minus the 1/2" for the ricors and I couldn't compress the caps within 2" of the fork tubes. I'm running a 1kg single rate spring which is much stiffer than the .96kg variable rate spring that's stock. It may not seem like a huge difference, but a variable, or progressive spring has a much softer section that compresses easily before it gets into the stiffer section of the spring. I ended up running a 7" spacer, which was the tallest I could run and still get the fork caps on. My sag is about 3/4" to soft and the adjusters will make up for that.

I'm running 10wt Amsoil Shock Therapy. My ricors are stock but they will be getting modified with new shim stacks and valve porting. Once that's done I plan to change to 5wt Amsoil. Every fluid comes out differently on how they measure viscosity and no one has convinced me that there is a better fluid than Amsoil.

I have a pretty in depth thread in this setup that explains why it works. The link is below. I talked to many suspension companies and none of them agreed on what was best. This is my 5th fork setup and is by far the best. I don't think it would compare to Ohlins cartridges, but it cost about $600 vs $1500.

Just now I decided to read all your other thread and now I really understand what you are talking about! I too want to know your feedback on how it all turns up when you get everything done!

Now I will read the thread from fabrik8r on the touring models!

I was waiting on my new springs to show up. Then life and work had me swamped. If I can get off work tomorrow at a reseaonable time, I'm going to do them when I get home.

I'll post my results once I get it done. It'll be early next year most likely since I'm deployed until November and plan on tearing the bike down for paint and powder, again, when I get back. I need to tidy up some small things that have been bothering me.

Racetech makes a single rate spring for everything except the 49mm forks. Fabrik8r recommends them to all the bagger guys who run his mod. I would have went with them also, but they didn't make what I needed.
