Contemplating a trip from Wichita to DC, with an overnighter in Franklin, TN. It's about 700 miles (probably 12-ish hour) give or take on either side of Franklin. I'd likely be riding solo, no windscreen. Just me, a gun, a roll bag, and backpack strapped to the sissy bar.
Time of year? Weather conditions? Your age? ... Got enough ammo? 700 miles a day is "do-able" but far from comfortable. You'll need to "average" 60 mph and that's within reason. Leave early in the day ... make miles while the sun is shining ... Have a great ride!

31, really good shape. Probably in May or June. Preferably good weather (lol).
I rode from buffalo ny to Reno nv I left at 1pm Friday and got to Reno at around 6-7pm on Sunday. 700 a day is def doable. All I had was my bike, a bag, and skateboard.

You will have a blast.
12 hours is a good estimate.
Once you get on the bike, dont stop except for gas. You can't ride fast enough to make up for time spent eating and goofing off.
Get a fullface helmet. Modular if you can. Look online or at CycleGear for a good price.
I have a CCW, but don't carry on a bike. Carrying a gun on a bike is a pain. If you are going through Illinois (among other states) you may have issues. If you are planning on ever stopping in a bar you may have issues. You have to either carry it in the bar, or choose to leave it on the bike.
And AGE has NOTHING to do with the distance a person can cover. Most of the IBA cert holders are older and most of the premier riders are old enough to be this guy's dad.
Do it. I'm 54, ride a Streetbob, definitely not a badass, and have ridden to Sturgis from here in one day four different times. 800 miles, and no big deal. Went out for a long ride the next day. I did use a windshield, though. At 31 you should kick its ***.
