Default 16" Roland Sands apes

I was given a set of 16" Roland Sands apes from a buddy who swapped them out for a more narrow set on his Sporty 72. I've got a few questions about installing them on my Street Bob. I'm assuming that I will need to order a longer cable kit. The Burley kit is said to include black braided steel brake line, extended clutch cable, extended throttle cables and all necessary wiring. Is it necessary to bleed the brake line or is it a quick disconnect type of swap? If anyone has experience with this mod I would appreciate any input.

Yes you have to bleed the brake after install. If you wanna make it easy on yourself order a speed bleeder for your caliper, makes it 100x easier.

I'd stay away from the burly kit, I have one on my bike and the quality is definitely lacking. They do work though. If you do go with the burly go 2" shorter than you think you need (14") . Because they are always way to long.. Especially if your lowered any amount, its even worse. I'm lowered and I have more than 4" to much.

If it was me I'd go with magnum cables and take some measurements with a string to get my lengths. If you wanna do it easy just go +6" and be done with it. Barnett also makes a good cable.

Thanks all. @mtorres Ive got a 12 SB just did a ton of work to it in the last month. A/C, Short Shots, fuel pack, 10.5' rear shocks and a 3" tank lift, willie g hand grips and pegs. I just smoked all my turn signals out today... I've also removed the tank badges, reflectors, belt guards and that silly aluminum strip on the battery cover. There are pictures in my album. except the lift and drop. @fargone yeah he had them lying around and couldn't stand the look of the stock mini apes on my bike, lol.

How difficult is it to bleed the brakes or install a speed bleeder. I'm no mechanic but I'm proud to say I'm the only one who's turned a wrench while installing any of my mods. Do you think a novice would be able to get this job done?
