You need to let the bike get out of warm up mode before you take off on it.

The idle RPM setting in your ECM is only active when the vehicle is stopped. Closed throttle while moving has a seperate spark table that is fixed for that purpose only so if anything is not perfect it may idle high or low until the vehicle is completely stopped.

I've had three different Harley bikes. A 2008 Night Train, 2008 Electra Glide, and my now 2011 Street Bob. All three have done this at some point. Never worry about it though, as it isn't redlining or anything. Just a slight variance in the RPM sometimes slowing down. It also drops low sometimes, and sounds like a Harley should...but that one never last for very long. AFMM3 hit it on the head. I think it is a normal thing, unless it is WAY high or something.

I called HD when I got my new street bob back in 2011 and its normal for a fuel inj. bike to idle higher than you might be used to. Mine usually starts when its been run for awhile and the motor is hot. Doesn't usually last more than a couple of minutes. You can always reset the ECU and clear the computer ... its an easy thing to do with these bikes. turn key on for ten seconds , off for ten, etc. If I remember correctly I did 4 cycles of on and off and the ECU reset itself just fine. Others might be able to explain the process better than I but its not hard to do.

A malfunctioning MAP sensor will do that.

Actually it can seem like cruise control and cable throttles don’t have cruise control

I've owned 1 bike w EFI.....never again. I'll never own a bike that doesn't have a carburetor,I read these forums about remapping ECM ect n think I too was a sucker gettin taken for a ride by HD. No thnk I'll stick w anything pre 98 w a simple ol fashioned carb.
