hi everyone i was wondering if you could help me pick out a cam that would be best tailored to my style of riding as much as i try to research cams and figure out which one would be best for me i always end up back at square one so throwing it out there to see what everyone's opinions were seemed like the logical choice.
i have a 12 wg with se backing plate and a kn, rush 2.0 slip-ons and a fuelpak that i did a little ebay / craigslisting for and got everything for under 300 dollars. that being said im looking at putting a sert and rush long pipes on in the near future as well as a cam.
my riding style is very aggressive i mostly ride between 2000-3500 rpm range but on the highway i will ride higher as i push the bike over 100mph at times.
with that being said what are your thoughts on a cam that would fit best with a mostly stock 103 and aggressive riding style. im not worried about what my bike will dyno at just how my useable power will increase
I wouldn't call between 2000-3500 aggressive............with that range an Andrews 26 or perhaps a Woods 222.....also if you do cams **** can the fuel pack and get a better tuner

planing on going with the se race tuner when i do the cam. that's the primary range not to say that i haven't revved the bike out hotroding it around. im just worried about ending up with either a cam that belongs on a loaded bagger, or the other side of the spectrum with a cam that builds all of its power over 4k where im not frequently riding in.
I agree with thedon that's not aggressive that's the norm. The 100 miles an hour maybe aggressive but I bet you don't do that often and if you do have fun with the tickets. I have a 2011 wg and I ride in that rpm range and maybe a tad higher and I went witty the tw222 and love it. Torque comes on fast and hangs on till about 4500 then at that point the hp is kicking in to hold me there. Each cam had its own character and your riding style will determine what will suit you best. However all of them tho a certain extent well be better than stock with picking the correct cams for your engine and compression. I would suggest calling the manufacturer your thinking and explain too them your style of riding and let them give you advice. Not to many will put in a cam and wish you they had a different one.
for a 96 or 103, if you're not doing headwork or increasing compression, the Andrews 48 and woods 222 are good choices. The SE255 gets good reviews but is considered an EPA version of the mentioned cams, and torque drops off a bit earlier, but still a good cam.
I think you would be very happy with Andrews 57's - have them in my 12 RGC which is the same engine in a much heavier bike. I have a SE aircleaner and a Supertrapp 2in1 exhaust with a Thundermax doing the tuning. Not a cheap set of mods but well worth it. Torque comes on about 2200 rpm and can actually pull in 6th gear down low.
Sounds like what I am seeing in the Andrews 37 that I have now.
I wanted my low end to come on sooner than it does with the 37...find myself always cranking on it because I enjoy the power but when I see the speeds I gotta throttle back!
I am planning on more 2 up riding so was looking for low end grunt...maybe swap the 37 for 21?
You can compare how the cam is designed to run (when does it start pulling,) by looking at the intake duration figures.
An "average" mid range cam will run in the mid 230 degree range. A "higher end" cam runs around 245 and up while the lower end cams, 2200 rpm to 4000 rpm ( like my Andrews 26,) runs a 226 intake duration. ( And it pulls to 5500 easily too btw.)
You can do 100mph on stock cams so you don't need a huge change. TW26 or the Andrews 510 will do fine. Both are bolt-in cams, nothing wrong with the fuel pak, I use them all the time now.
