Default Progressive drop in PVC spacer questions

If you have the drop in lowering kit from Progressive what length do you have your spacer cut to and what drop did that give you?

I dropped the back of my bike an inch and would like to do the same to the front but am a little confused when it comes to the spacer. According to the instructions it says that for my bike, 2012 Street Bob, I should cut the spacer to an inch, but it doesn't actually say how much that will lower it.

The spacer itself is just a tiny bit over 3.25 inches. I laid everything out beside the stock spring and spacer and it looks like cutting the PVC to 2.5 would give the same stock ride height. So with that I was thinking to get an inch drop I'd have to cut the spacer down to 1.5".

Now that's all well and good but I've been reading online where people are getting 2" drop from cutting the PVC down to 1" which doesn't make any sense to me since according to my logic a .5" should give you 2" of drop.

Maybe my thinking is completely wrong or maybe I'm over thinking it entirely. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

did you look at the chart/paper that came in the box that tells you how much to cut for how much you have dropped in the back?

I think I installed per the instructions and it dropped way too much. So I went to Lowe's, got some irrigation PVC, cut it to the desired length. a little trial and error, but I have it right where I want it.

I'd say 1.5 inches is about where you want to be.. My bike had burlys on it in the rear, and I cut my spacer in the front to an inch, which was perfect.. Mine was pretty much level.. Check out this older pic below.. Hope this helps

There is no chart in my instructions, it only says to cut it to an inch, doesn't even say what type of drop that is suppose to give.

Thanks TwelveHD, that helps a bit.

Do a search for Progressive Spacer, There are hundreds of threads.
I do recommend changing your fork oil as well. Better to do it while you have it apart than having to take it apart again.

Here is a couple that may help you. (The lower you drop the front, the stiffer it gets)

Thanks, I did search but found so many different results.

I already cut them to 1.5" so we'll see how that looks after I get the bike down off the lift. I'm thinking now that that was probably too much and I should have went to only 2".

You can go to your local hardware store with a piece of the original pipe. It is just PVC pipe.
With the amount they give you, you should have a couple of 2" pieces left over.
