Please forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong area I am brand new to the forum. Here is my problem
I have a 91 FXR I bought a 2:1 mini speedo made by custom chrome installed it with new cable and it seemed to work properly until I tested it against my Tom Tom GPS
Anything below 50 mph my gauge is five mph ahead of the GPS Anything 60 mph and above gauge is running about 10 mph ahead of the GPS So my question is why and is there a way to fix it maybe with a better mini speedo? My front wheel is 19" I don't know if this is the stock size for the 91 FXR please someone help me figure this out! I can understand a couple mph off but to be a complete 10 mph off doesn't seem right to me could the drive gear and the front wheel be wrong or possibly bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Wrong ratio for the stock speedo drive on the front wheel. Get the right ratio for your speedo & wheel size & the correct spaceing for the fxr front wheel. Costom Chrome sells them.
