Currently in the process of installing these mirrors, I am eliminating the stock turn signals, ran the wires internally per the directions, and also did the Y harness connections per the directions. Power is going to the harness but not out the end to go to the mirror, but if I bypass the harness and go directly to the mirror, the signal will function properly, but no running light. Also, the headlight is not illuminating for some reason.. Anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
I didn't use the Y-Harness I don't know if it intends to run the turn signal and mirrors in series or in parallel. If it intends to run in series, you'll have to connect the two open connections on the unused end of the Y-Harness. If its intended torun in parallel, you should be getting power to the mirror regardless of a connection at the other Y section.
Took both Y-harness assemblies up to Harley, both are defective out of the box! Tech said he has seen these harness's defective out of the box numerous times. Worst part is I can't swap them for new ones because it wasn't installed at the dealer, said it voids the warranty. $50 a piece for the new harness's...
