Default Adjusting throttle

I just put in some new grips the other night and Im not sure if i adjusted the cables right..

I basically tightened the throttle until it was a low RPM and didnt sound like it wanted to take off, and then I adjusted the idle until there was no play left in the grip..

Do you guys have any play or is it pretty strict, ive put too much thought into it so now I cant remember if i had any play or not..

Also now when I let go of the throttle, the bike doesnt backfire...i kinda liked that.

Technically you should have about 1/8" of slack. I prefer less.

However, you should adjust the main cable properly.
