Did a little work this afternoon, first I pulled the old cams off the cam plate and then removed the HD oil pressure relief valve so I could install the Axtell oil bypass valve. The HD oil bypass piston was a little difficult to remove but a ball end allen wrench had enough contact with the inside of the piston to slide it out.
In the picture you can see the 1/8" punch used to remove the roll pin and the homemade tool I made to push on the spring as I "punched" out the roll pin. I made the tool out of a 3/8" dowel that I cut the middle out to about 1/2" up the dowel using a table saw.
Here is a pic of the old HD oil bypass valve with the Axtell below:
Here are the old HD cams on top with the Tman 590s below:
Here is the front view of the 590s installed. Hope it looks good to everybody?
Really had no difficulties, went just like the Fuel Moto and S&S videos. On the front cam you can see the new retaining ring installed. The HD SM tells you to install it with the "sharp edge out" - if you feel the front edge with your finger, it does feel sharper but when I pulled the original ring off I noticed the ring "bulges" out on the side that faces out - so I put the new one in like the original.
