I also got my newly bored cylinders back with the CP flat top pistons and rings already preinstalled - sure makes things a lot easier
Here is a pic of the new Kramme-Lox piston wrist pin locks and the tool used to install them. The tool holds on to that 90 degree bent part to aid in installing - I will let ya know how it goes when I give it a go. I believe there is a You Tube video on this product if interested. Maybe I will be selling my circlip installer tool that I had bought
Thanks. To the best of my knowledge, AMS does all of GMR's headwork and I used AMS - they have been doing heads for a long time and the prices are very reasonable.
My crank is officially at Darkhorse, got there Wednesday. Was told it should arrive back at my Indy between Feb 17 - Feb 21
Alan what did your heads flow? with keeping the exhaust valves stock.
I do not have a flow sheet, Eric at AMS talked about the flow a little with me today because we had discussed the possibility of a 1.610" Exhaust valve but he made the decision not to go bigger because of how well the the exhaust flowed already with the stock size. I think he does so many of these heads and he tries to keep the cost as reasonable as possible that he does not produce a flow sheet every time. I'm sure he has a pretty good idea of what the numbers are, I could call but I fell pretty comfortable that I will be getting a lot bang for the buck.
Nice to have the rings done preferred. Takes a while and great care to do. Never seen clips like that....petty cool. Learn and see something new daily.
