Can't say anything about the grips the OP has purchased, however, with the Kuryakyn ISO grips I have, the clutch side grip fits inside the switch housing but that alone will not keep it in place. It is still required to to use an adhesive inside the grip to glue it to the handlebar. Also, the adhesive supplied by Kuryakyn is useless.

too remove old grips take off your bars leaving left side grip on. boil some water and put the water in a jar or some thing tall, insert the grip/bar in hot water in under a minute the glue will soften then you can pull off the grip with out damage,,, same for the throotle side

Just bought some HD grips for my RK. Bought the same style that was on it. I noticed the new ones were designed a bit differently. First the old ones had more rubber (softer). And clutch side was glued on. New ones are harder plastic and on the clutch side the portion that fits inside the switch housing is shaped different the grip has to be rotated correctly or the switch housing won't mate together properly. Once the grip is rotated and housing tightened down the grip is locked in place. No glue needed, No instructions and no glue supplied with the grips to begin with.
