Check out race-techs website
they have a video that explains the emulators function.

Cool. Thanks! I will have a look to it. I have heard that thé HD dealers have received a spécial kit tout improve thé fork. Don't know more. Do you?

I tried to read back on your posts and I don't think you are calculating correctly... you said best you did was 138 miles to a tank and that it worked out to 29 mpg correct? Well yeah if you divide 138 by the size of the tank 4.7 gallons then yes that it is what it comes out to. Problem is you will never use 4.7 gallons of fuel. You don't have that supply, you would have to pull the pump out and then fill it to the brim and run it until you ran out of gas (literally the motor stops running) to use 4.7 gallons. Instead typically when the fuel light comes on there is only 3.1-3.5 gallons of fuel used. So by that math You are actually in the high 30s mpg. The only way to truly calculate mpg is to fill the tank, ride it 100 miles or so (and record the mileage) then fill it again dividing that mileage by how many gallons you put in.

Long story short and forgive me if I'm wrong, I don't think the bike is bad on gas, I think you are doing that math incorrectly

I'm with you. I posted the following earlier in the thread (and the OP said something about only 3 and a bit gallons fill)

Have you double-checked your calculations?

I am running an app on my iPhone to monitor running costs since new and it tells me I have covered 2,489 miles on mine and averaged 124 miles between fills. I'm in the UK so we fill up in Litres (Euro nonsense!!!) but that converts to UK gallons at 47.54MPG Average, worked as follows:

Purchased 238 Litres of Fuel = 52.3527 Imperial Gallons = 62.8729 US Gallon.

Ridden 2489 miles.

Averages to 47.54MPG Imperial Gallon or 39.59 US Gallon.

Now, as the HD Website states 43 MPG combined, I'm quite happy with my mileage.

Don't forget it's only a 4.7 gallon tank and the low fuel warning does come on quite (very) early (most I have ever got in the tank is 3.96258 US Gallon and covered 132 miles on that trip or 33.3 US MPG and that was mostly town riding.

just curious, has anyone out there filled their tank when empty to see how much goes in? the pump assy will take up some volume.

The most I've gotten in is 4 gal. Range still said 19 miles. I'm getting about 150 a tank and I'm on the pipe alot.I figured 38-42 mpg.

Which when doing the math properly matches what I have been getting. As I alluded to when I first posted on the problem, its a case of recording what you do and then work it out over a period of miles and refills to get a decent average.

Also wondering how many of the 6 gears available he has been using? After all bad shifting will make for awful mileage
