Did you completely remove the baffle and leave the cat?
How does it sound?
I drilled the center out of the "plug" and some holes around the outlet of the baffle and got all the packing out. Could still use a little more sound.
I also have a K&N intake with the V&H FP3, great combo, runs nice.
Good to hear from you. Nice bike. Any plans to get an aftermarket exhaust?
If so, go a few pages back in this thread. Some nice videos on the Two Brothers 2 into 1 exahust.
Rode 1100 miles in two days on my 14 LR this last weekend. Rode through a down pour and saw some great sights along the way.
Felt great overall, I have forwards on mine but don't like being stretched out that long. Needed to bring my knees back a few times while riding. Wish I could find some mid peg supports to make a reverse highway peg set up, maybe a different seat or some upgraded suspension then I could go for weeks without issue. Love the LR.
Do you happen to have the detachable side plate kit on your bike? I do, and I noticed a rattle in that same rpm range. Drove me crazy until I figured out it was my detachable sissy bar. It was installed nice and tight, but that didn't matter, it would still chatter in that rpm range. I have the old school upright bar and am running it without a passenger pad, so there's nothing anchoring it in the center. Didn't do it with a bag strapped on.
Ended up custom cutting small pieces of electrical tape and wrapping the bar where it clamps onto the back tail light post. Can't see it at all...pretty low-tech solution. If you rev it up in neutral and can hear the noise, grab a hold of the sissy bar - if the noise stops, that's what it is. Just a possibility...

1100 miles in 2 days is some serious riding. What have you done with your LR?

It was one hell of a ride, left Saturday morning and came home Sunday night. Didn't go much above the speed limit either!
The only mods I've put on so far are the HD forwards, Memphis shades gauntlet, and a detachable back rest. Otherwise she's almost all stock. Of course I have Willie G in the main places as a nod toward his original. But, I haven't decided whether I'll keep it and continue mods or sell it off for a fxdls since the girl wants to get her own as well.
so i have been reading that there have been issues with 06+ hd's and their inner primary bearings. Does anyone know if the moco has done anything thing to resolve the issues with bad IPB's? I am getting this annoying squeak/rattle in 1st and 2nd gear at 3K rpm. I have checked everything except the primary, and cannot find anything rubbing....
Do you have a Harley detachable backrest for the passenger installed? If so I'd check that area out. Mine rattled between 1800-2800 rpm and it was coming from the backrest.

Currently at about 10000 miles. Had the 1K, 5K and 10K services done at the dealer. Bike has given me no issues. In 37-38 years of riding, I set a record in terms of most miles ever put on a bike in only 14 months. Keep in mind I do not tour and living in the midwest means I cannot ride year round.

You have put on the miles since getting the LR; hope all continues to go well with the bike.
