Anyone have any idea what a 2015 Low Rider with 17300 miles that has been fully dealer serviced, always covered and garaged, and been never dropped might be worth as a dealer trade-in?
I have never done a dealer trade before but have seen on this forum plenty of guys making out good. After my last experience on cycletrader dealing with lots of tire kickers and fools, not sure I want to go through the hassel of private sale.

I think it will depend on what you're wanting to buy. I believe you want a LR-S, right? I had a dealer just last week offer me $9,900 trade in on mine, but he was really wanting to deal. I had another dealer offer me $8500 just today, about an hour ago. So I guess it depends on "what and where" you're buying. Don't forget, a dealer can make the "numbers" say whatever they want so it looks like you're getting a good trade-in price, when actually you're not. I'd say $9,000 would be average.

I second that response. I had a dealer offer me blue book at $8250 for a pristine 2014 with less than 3k miles. Then had another say, "I'll top the blue book by at least a thousand," but he wanted me to ride 300 miles on a guess. It really does come down to when and where. My father traded his 08' heritage classic to a dealer in 2015 for twice the book value because they already had it sold before he signed the paperwork. He walked away with a 15' ultra classic with plenty of bells and whistles.
FWIW, a dealer offered me 9500 trade in for my '14 LR w/11960 miles on it...this was about 6 months ago. The bike was in great shape with no dents, dings and no scratches. It had a stage 1 set up and was dyno tuned w/SE Pro Super Tuner. The deal fell through but this same dealer agreed to buy my bike for the same $9500.00.
It took him 5 months to sell the bike at his HD dealership and it was priced at $11K on the floor...I think he sold it for $10.5K, but I'm not positive.

Thanks. The LR S is what I am looking at. I have heard it will not be in the 2018 lineup. If that is the case, then I have two dealers in my area with 2017s. I was really wanting a factory color other than black. The two dealers I am looking at now are the same two that had the best deals when I got my 2015 LR. I had talked to a bunch of different dealers and the two finalists were the two most hungry to make a deal.
For me, this deal will be trade-in super clean 2015 LR and cash. I need to financing.
I just paid about $13,000 at a dealer for a chromed out, 5,000 mile, 2015 LR with detachable windshield, detachable sissy bar, chrome forks, Stage I with Cobra Exhaust and tuned with the SE Super Tuner Pro, which came with the bike as well. I feel like I got a great deal, so how much did they have in the bike? The previous owner put about $4,000 in extras into the bike and he must have had $19K total into it...
Hope everyone is out riding. I rode Sat and Sun. Over 100 miles each day. Right at about 17500 miles. Not going to take me long to hit the next servicing at 20K.
Hey boys and girls! Do you allow touring guys in here? In my defense I am a recovering Low Rider. Sold My '01 after I bought my Roadie and someone in an online forum warned me I would be back. 10 years later I have a line on a 2014. I constantly see this thread in New Posts so I figure it is either really good news or really bad! I will read a bunch but I am hoping to get the lowdown (pun intended)on this model year by the dedicated few here.
Not looking for anyone to analyze my "deal" but just things about this model I should know as I have been off the Dyna set for a bunch of years. What breaks what doesn't that kind of stuff. If I close the deal I will throw up a pic or two although this one is bone stock Whiskey Amber.
Thanks in advance.

The answers to your questions will be found in this thread. Lots of LR and LR S owners giving first-hand information about their bikes.
I came from a sportsbike background and spent a long time researching what I would get as my first cruiser. In the end, I went with the LR. Great bike. I already know my next bike will be a LR or LR S or LR CVO (if HD ever makes such a bike).
I will ride some version of the LR until the day I stop.
