Just recently have been getting shocked when I start my Dyna, my seat leg rests on the primary and when I go to start the bike as soon as I hit the crank switch wamo I get a good shock to my leg. Where should I start
Wow just went in garage and turned the ignition on , guess I shut her down with the left turn sig on and it was blinking at 2 or 3x's the speed. I stink with electrical ****
I also think you are getting zapped by the spark plug wire. If your leg is touching the spark plug wire the current probably goes into your leg where it is touching the plug wire, and back out where your leg is close to the primary cover.
The ignition is the only place where there is sufficient voltage to shock you.

sorry, mis communication. The shochk hits my lower leg from the primary case
I get it. Check the plug wires. A bad connection at the coil, plug or damaged coil housing or wire will allow high voltage to escape and shock you.
You could try misting the coil/plugs/wires with a spray bottle of water and see if it changes the way it runs. If you touch a wire you could also verify but they bite pretty hard and if you have a pacemaker I wouldnt advise it.
The only other source of electricity that would be significant is AC from the stator but no mention of a charging issue and I personally have never heard of someone being shocked from that.
The battery is 12v and you can touch that with your hands.
Since you indicate its a real strong zap lets stt with the most obvious. And if you have metal decorative covers over the plugs remove them because they contribute to this type of thing.

Well get this.....actually 2 separate things. When I replaced the plugs last month I guess I didn't push the coil end in tight enough .....it was making poor contact to the coil.thanks ED. That stopped the shocking. Signal light speed blinking was do to , 1 ground wire was ground apart by my rear wheel and 1 of the bulbs was wasted. So now she's running great again. Thanks to all. You guys are great
