No spark.
no spark.
replaced CPS, coil, battery fully charged (new battery), and still no spark.
It's a 2001 Electra Glide, under total restoration.
Finished, with exceptions of stripe work, and ready to put on the road. That is, if I can get it started again. When I first started it, it ran great for about 2 weeks while I was finishing up the small items. Then, it had issues with idling, then would start at all. After a fight with that, I realized I had failed to put the ground wire from the engine to the frame....duh!! It started up, ran fine, then idle went to hell, it started to backfire, sounding like it was "loading up" and then died. Thought fuel was the issue, but the plugs are wet with fuel, but no spark to set it off. Put in new CPS, and coil, nothing. Checked all fuses, battery, anything I could think of ( I'm not a novice mechanic). Someone tried to tell me that it was a fuel issue, and I may not know as much as he does, but what the hell does the fuel system have to do with the spark? Unless there's some connection in Harley's that I'm not aware of.
Anyway, help!!!!

I agree with Ed Ramberger. You should check the voltage.
I found an article about harley davidson no spark troubleshooting.
You may check. Hope this might help you.

And let us know if the problem solved.
There is no run position and start position for the coil. That may be true for a `60s era slant six Dodge, but not a Harley Davidson.
Ballast resistor if I recall right.

I checked for a cam sensor at every dealer in my area, and others across the country, and none of them have one for my bike. All on "backorder " and the ones that do have one say they are "held" for someone else. Tried a few local independents, and still nothing. So it could be the middle of the month, if not after the first of the year before I can even get one.

I am very sorry that the article was not up to the mark. The thing is I do not possess expertise on such topics. I hired a writer to write the article, who was supposed to be an expert on harley davidson engines. He convinced me well that he is the one for accomplishing the article. I think he got me there. Again, extremely sorry for the mishap.
I would appreciate any suggestions on making the site better. Thank you.
