How to wire a phone charger to the ignition switch?
So yeah, I bought a phone charger I want to mount to the handlebars and hard wire to the ignition switch so that power is only supplied when the switch is on. I did find a diagram of the switch, but am not certain where to put the hot and ground wires. Can anyone help me out?
Run a wire from the output side of the accessory breaker (silver colored stud) up into the fork tins where you will mount the charger.
Since you are adding to the accessory circuit, use orange color wire
Doing it this way eliminates the need to tap into an existing wire (I refuse to tap into an electrical harness to add a component, there is always a way to do it without molesting the wiring harness).
