What is this connector behind my carb? (1999 FXST)
First time HD owner. Just got a 99 softail custom (mostly stock Evo). Was cleaning the air filter and I see this electrical connector hanging down behind the carb. Looks like its coming from between the tank.
what is this for? Diagnostic port? Is it supposed to just dangle?
'99's are pre-computer. Follow the harness up thru the carb. Does it end entering the wire harness? My guess is the VOES is disconnected? You want to plug that back in if the VOES is still there.

you might be right. Best I can tell is it goes up between the split tank. I am googling this VOES switch and not seeing anything like that on or near the carb, but the left side of the carb (looking at it from the side of the bike) has an upward pointing hose line that has a nipple on it.
Im actually thinking its for a Trapdoor Solenoid. This was a California bike once upon a time and I think the wires on the connector correspond to the diagram I saw while researching VOES. Plus VOES uses the wrong color wires.
I probably wont sweat this if its that, but maybe Ill tie it up somewhere.
