1999 Dyna FXD Speedo out.
the electronic Speedo is not registering any speed at all. The light comes on, the odometer is on but not registering any mileage. I even see the Speedo needle jump during the start up ignition sequence.
what I have done to try and fix it.
1. replaced the VSS
2. checked the voltage regulator connection for oil. It did have oil in it. Cleaned it and reconnected it.
3. checked battery voltage. Approx 12.5 Volts at idle. Approx 14.6 V at 2000 rpms.
4. Checked battery connections for tightness. Good to go.
5. checked electrical regulator. Nothing obvious. Pulled it and nothing at the speedo, put it back and the power came back to it.
at this point, Im running out of ideas. My gut is telling me that the Speedo is working and its just not receiving a signal for some reason. Im open to all suggestions and questions.
thanks!

Any suggestions on what could possibly be the issue?Wiring between the Speedo and the connection under the seat? Something wonky in the connection inside of the Speedo itself?
- check the O/W wire for 12v
- check continuity on B wire to ground
- check if the connector in the speedo is seated well (I once had a bent pin in the speedo connection)
- check continuity on all wires (R, W and B) from the speed sensor to the speedo
- check continuity on B/Y wire from the ignition module through the 12 points connectors to the speedo

assuming Im doing this correctly. With a setting of 200 Ohms on my multimeter, I am getting 0.2 or 0.3 readings on the black, red and white wire. Does that sound correct?
Hopefully not related. Is this rust something to worry about?

FYI: the black bars in the wiring diagram represent the connectors
