New cam install thread

I started cleaning up around the bike and putting my tools away. While cleaning I found one lonely allen head bolt laying under the blanket I had been laying on. Of course no bolts missing on the outside, so it had to belong to the cam plate. SO back off everything came. Yup. One bolt missing. I Installed it and started back together. I meant to look at that snap ring again, but forgot, and by the time I remembered, I already had the exhaust back on. The exhaust is the hardest part I think.

That's how we learn; bet you won't make that mistake again........ If you got the retaining ring install backwards, you might find out somewhere down the road.

Thanks for posting. This thread is the exact reason why I won't do the cam install myself. My Indy shop gave me a quote of $900 out the door for all parts and labor.
