Default Comp sprocket torque check

Pulling outer primary to install heavy duty diaphragm spring. Thought whike in there I would check comp nut torque and or just replace and torque new bolt. Can I get away with removing chain and not pulling clutch hub assembly? Right now I am just @ 10k on 2012 street glide. Just being preventive. If it is not worth the effort I will let it go. thanks

If your comp isn't acting weird i would leave the nut alone, you dont need to get the clutch hub out to remove the comp

Othet than a few clunks here and there, it has never kicked back on me. Sometimes when I shut motor off I hear a little noise down there. The FSM stated to remove all ( comp, chain, clutch hub)as an assembly , and that didn't seem practical. Thanks

Unlike a bicycle chain, there isn't enough slack in the chain to remove only the _____ without removing the ______.

It is an all or nothing deal. No way around it without cutting the chain.

Atleast with the SE compensator I do not have to get the hub out, when you get the comp torx bolt out, the entire assembly falls off and you can remove the chain from the clutch hub, im 100% sure since I had my entire primary out two weeks ago.

Im not sure if with the first comp version you have to remove everything but something tells me that isn't needed.

Once the bolt is off, the sprocket itself can be removed from the shaft by simply pulling it out.

I'll just let it be. Not going to break the threadlock loose to add torque to it. So either i replace the bolt or let it be. Not hard to get back in there so if I start to hear a bunch of noise later I will just replace the whole damn thing. Till then no since fixing what isn't broke.
