This may seem like a stupid Question, but does anyone have a diagram or picture of a cranksaft with the differents parts labeled, Like what end is the pinion shaft and whats the other side called. Only thing I have done in the bottom end is put new cams in and I just followed the directions that came wit the cams
currently building my 03 88ci into a 95 and measured crank runout just the other day. Bike has 67,000 on it and runout was .002 needless to say, i was happy with that. Still running chains though. maybe gear drives will be during the next major overhaul
Howdy,
I can't find a thread so I'll post it here. I have a 2017/107 that I have done work on to about a stage II. See signature. I have 55K miles now. I plan on keeping the bike and I'm looking ahead for options. Currently making
107HP / 120 Tq and has not been on a dyno tune yet.
I havent' decide for sure If i will go with big bore kit to 124 or just rebuild stock 107. I do plan on doing a Darkhorse Comp and hedwork. The heads will depend on what I do for the Ci.
My question is about the crank. I haven't done a crank run-out yet. Actually don't have a gauge.
The question is rebuilding the stock crank ( not weld, just rebuild and balance) or getting a after market like S&S.
The S&S is not welded like a Darkhorse, so could be rebuilt it needed down the road.
When I rebuild, I know that is the time to address the crank, bearings, pushrods.
Has any had their cranksahft rebuilt? What are your thoughts?
